Roshan Foundation is closely monitoring the monsoon situation across the country, with focus on AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Central Punjab. Heavy rains have triggered flash floods, riverine flooding, urban flooding, and GLOFs, damaging homes, roads, bridges, and critical infrastructure.
During disaster, teams stay on the frontlines with rescue, food, medical aid, and clean water. Temporary shelters, learning spaces, and mosques provide safety. Mobile health units treat the injured while dignity kits restore confidence.
Pakistan is once again facing a serious humanitarian emergency as the 2026 monsoon season brings heavy rainfall, flash floods, urban flooding and landslides. Homes have collapsed, roads have been damaged and families have been forced to leave affected areas. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are among the regions exposed. Children, women, older people and low-income communities face the greatest risks.

From 2022 to 2024, severe floods repeatedly affected communities across Pakistan. The catastrophic 2022 floods affected more than 33 million people, caused 1,739 deaths and damaged millions of houses. Later seasons again brought deaths, injuries, and destroyed livelihoods.
Across these years, rescue, food, shelter, healthcare and emergency relief continued — including tens of thousands of people rescued and hundreds of thousands of patients treated in peak response years.
Effective flood response begins with early warnings and rapid evacuation. It continues through rescue, food, clean water, shelter and healthcare. Long-term recovery needs safe housing, livelihoods, schools and stronger infrastructure.
